Summary: Two years later, Chloe runs into Sam, and he just doesn't know what to make of the dangerous bitch she's become. But her bad attitude and edgy clothes aren't what he has the most trouble adjusting to. Lex Luthor is.
"Now, remember, keep your temper and be respectful when you meet him." Chloe was going over the rules once more as they made their way to the elevator in the Ritz. "Don't make any sudden movements that can be misconstrued as a threat or you will be put down without a thought, and don't touch him." She pressed the button to the penthouse and the elevator's doors closed. "He hates being touched."
"What is he? The Godfather
?" Sam made a face as he turned to lean against one of the walls, folding his arms over his chest.
"He's probably watching us on the elevator camera." She gave a little wave towards the camera Sam hadn't known was there. "He's heard a lot about you from me, and he's put up with the scene on the road out of kindness towards me, so please do not push him because I can't help you if you do."
"You're scared." Sam whispered, realizing it.
"Scared is an overstatement." Her eyes were serious though as she turned to him. "I'm worried, I don't know how you'll react. You're not how you used to be, so I can't predict your reactions and the consequences those reactions might have, that is why I am trying to give you a rundown of all the major do's and don'ts." She pulled a strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "Lex Luthor is one of the the, if not the, most powerful players on this chessboard."
"Chessboard?" Sam frowned, confused.
Chloe had been fidgety ever since the situation on the highway, but now it was getting worse. She was shaking slightly, shaking her foot rapidly.
Sam pushed away from the wall, going to grab her hand, feeling the tremors that seemed to just grow stronger and stronger. "Are you that scared?"
"What?" She looked at him in confusion and then her gaze went to where he was holding her, and then she looked away. "No, this...this is something else."
Before he could ask her what she was talking about, the elevator doors opened and they were met by two huge men in suits, with guns.
"Raul, Martin." Chloe nodded.
"Miss Chloe." They murmured, giving a little bow.
Sam watched in shock, following Chloe out of the elevator and giving the men wary looks before they reached a large door guarded by two more armed men.
"You two are looking spiffy today." She announced, straightening one of their ties.
"He's been in a foul mood, Miss Chloe." One of the men warned.
"I can handle him." She reassured him with a smile.
The second man opened the door for them.
Sam really began to wonder if Lex Luthor was the Godfather.
Chloe and Sam entered the room and the doors were closed behind them, leaving them alone with a man a little older than Sam.
Lex Luthor was probably around Dean's age. He had shortly cropped dark red hair, pale skin, and emotionless expression as he eyed Sam before those blue orbs went to Chloe. "You okay?"
"Of course." Chloe went towards him and dropped onto his lap, pressing a kiss to his cheek.
A tenderly amused expression crossed his face as Lex Luthor's arm went around her shoulders, pulling her to lean into his chest, before his eyes went to Sam. "So you're Samuel Winchester."
Sam shucked his hands in his front jeans pockets to try and quell the desire to knock that smug look off of the other man's face.
Hadn't Chloe said something about Luthor not liking to be touched?
Then why the hell was she hanging off of him like that?
Lex suddenly turned to Chloe, frowning. "You're shaking."
She was leaning her head against his heartbeat, eyes closed, hand grasping the front of his shirt. "I need it, Lex."
"No." His eyes hardened.
She opened her eyes and pushed away. "Lex. I need
"And I'm telling you that you don't." He replied.
Chloe pushed away from him, standing. "Goddamnit, Lex!" With a sweep of her arm, his metallic desk went flying into the wall with a violent thud.
A look of tired annoyance crossed his features. "Destroy all you want, Chloe. It won't make any difference. I'm not going to change my mind."
you fucking bastard
!" Chloe cried, collapsing to her knees, tears coming to her eyes.
Worried, Sam went to her, kneeling. "Chloe? What is it?"
Her shaking had gotten worse.
Suddenly the doors were thrown open, and a woman around the age of Lex appeared, storming into the room, her red hair bouncing with each furious step.
The newcomer gave one look at Chloe and then turned on Lex, eyes narrowed. "Goddamn it Lex! I've told you that she's not ready to go cold turkey yet! I knew you'd pull this shit!"
"Mercer." Lex stood, displeased. "If you inject her with that I swear to god-."
"Stuff it, Luther." She snapped, pulling out something from her bag.
And when Chloe saw it, her eyes widened. "Oh thank god."
Sam's eyes narrowed as she saw the large syringe filled with crimson red liquid. "What is that?"
Chloe stumbled to her feet and hurried to Tess. "I love you Mercy
, the delusions are already starting." The older woman frowned in worry before injecting Chloe with the needle.
"Dammit Tess!" Lex snapped, running his hand over his shortly cropped hair. "How is she going to be fully rehabilitated if you keep supplying her?"
"You know what happens to her, Lex!" Tess snapped right back at him, unafraid.
"What?" Sam stood, eyes narrowed. "What's happening to her and why?"
Chloe giggled, collapsing to her knees on the ground before lowering the rest of the way to the ground, looking up at the ceiling and continuing to giggle.
Lex sighed and sat back down.
Sam frowned. "Is she...high
Mercer turned towards Sam, holding out her hand. "I'm sure that Luther went all 'dominant white male' on you, so let me introduce myself and show you that some of us have manners. I'm Tess Mercer, Chloe saved my life a year ago and I'm still working off the debt."
"Sam Winchester." Sam frowned as he shook her hand. "What is it with you all and debts? Chloe was talking about owing me a debt, owing Luther a debt, and now you owe one?"
"Life debt." Lex announced in a tired way, gaze on Chloe. "Chloe saved Miss Mercer's life while she was on a mission, and Tess has been a thorn in my side ever since."
Tess ignored him. "Has Chloe mentioned her addiction to you?"
"She said something about being experimented on and having had an addiction to whatever was used on her." Sam frowned darker. "That was what was used on her, wasn't it?"
"Affirmative." Tess nodded. "It's a special red meteor in liquid form. Special green meteors in liquid form were injected into her for years, and was what not only caused her mutations, but her genius-level intelligence. Even if she had been tranquilized with the shots that had the cure in them, I doubt it would have worked because the green meteor serum was already saturating her entire body-bones, muscles, tissues...everything. And this new serum was injected in her at a massive dosage three times daily for a whole year before Lex took over and forced her into rehabilitation."
Sam frowned. "Chloe mentioned the addiction as if it were something of the past."
"I was lying." Chloe chuckled darkly, standing, shaking her head. "Whoooooeeeeeyyy! That hit me right where I needed it."
Lex sighed, bringing his hand to his face.
Sam ignored him, going towards Chloe, worried. "Are you okay?"
Chloe smiled up at him before taking up the space between them, grabbing the front of his shirt with one hand...and cupping him with the other. "Never better."
Sam went stiff, eyes wide and cheeks flushing. "Chloe!"
"Yeah..." She chuckled throatily, beginning to massage softly. "Say my name."
Sam jerked away, trying to remind himself that she was sixteen.
That was the mantra he screamed to himself in his mind over and over again, trying to calm Little Winchester.
Chloe followed him, vixen smile on her face.
Sam continued to back up until he was plastered against the wall, fists clenched tightly at his sides.
Right as she reached him, pinning him to the wall, Chloe was snatched away and thrown over Lex's shoulder, giving a little squeal.
." Lex snapped, giving her ass a slap.
Sam frowned, remembering having done something similar once upon a long time ago, and resenting the fact that someone else had taken that position in her life.
It shocked him just how greatly he resented it.
Chloe laughed from where she was thrown over Lex's shoulder, hanging upside-down, her skirt so short it gave a view up her thighs. "So possessive for someone who refuses to give it up and stake a claim."
"You're such a slut on red meteor." He sighed in resignation.
"If I was such a slut I wouldn't have waited for you." She was telling his back, poking it.
He smirked slightly, shaking his head. "No, you're just being smart. You know I'd kill whoever took advantage of you while you're in this drug-induced slutdome."
"I don't fucking care
who you kill."
"This you doesn't." He corrected, turning and taking her towards another door. "But the other you will."
"Fuck her." Chloe, now facing Sam, was grinning devilishly. "Seriously. Fuck
goddammit. Damn pushy-." Lex growled kicking the door open and entering the next room, kicking it shut behind them.
Sam frowned, not liking the thought of them together, alone.
Especially not after that conversation.
He took a step forwards.
"He's not going to do anything, especially not if she's in thats state." Tess' voice stopped him, the woman folding her arms over her chest. "There's something about Lex that I can't complain about, and its his belief in freedom of choice. His father was obsessed with Chloe, he had her at his side all the time, and had come close to trying to...make her...sleep with him, countless times."
Sam felt as if he'd been punched.
"She swore she'd screw with the collar and make it kill her if he touched her, and she was his beloved Patient Zero, so the fear of her causing harm to herself was the only thing that kept him from raping her." Tess announced coldly. "When she came under Lex's care, he made sure she realized that that wasn't expected of her, and he would never do anything with her in a situation that might mess with her self-will."
Sam felt reluctant respect for the older guy.
"By the time Lex freed Chloe, and she killed Lionel, she was already addicted to the red meteor rock. Lionel had kept her high on it all the time, because its been proven to remove people's inhibitions, their conscience, and he could get her to kill for him without complaint like that."
Sam looked away, unable to listen to this without flinching.
This was all of his nightmares combined into one. "We've been trying to help her come off of it, but it's highly addictive, and her body goes into shock without it, especially if she's used her power to a tiring degree." The redhead eyed the room, worried. "That's why I hauled ass and came here. I knew Lex would want her to stay on the bandwagon, but if I hadn't given her that shot she would have gone into hallucinations, could have lost consciousness, or maybe hyperventilate into a cardiac arrest."
." Sam whispered in horror.
"I think the Evil Bitch is the lesser of the two evils." Tess admitted, sighing. "Though I'm worried about her, since the side effects are showing up more and more."
Sam turned to her, eyes narrowed. "What side effects?"
