Summary: Two years later, Chloe runs into Sam, and he just doesn't know what to make of the dangerous bitch she's become. But her bad attitude and edgy clothes aren't what he has the most trouble adjusting to. Lex Luthor is.
Dean Winchester jolted up in bed, eyes wide, sleep completely gone. "What do you mean you've found her?"
His flavor of the week grumbled in the bed and turned around, bending the pillow around her head to block out the sound.
That annoyed him.
"I found her, Dean, or she did me. She was having car trouble and it landed her at the garage I was working in."
Dean was out of bed and gone to the bathroom, turning on the shower. "Was she with him? Is she okay? Was she hurt?"
There was a pause.
Dean frowned, looking at his reflection in the mirror as he turned on the lights, glaring at the cellular in hand. "Sam?"
"There's-Dean-I need you to keep this information to yourself for right now." His brother's voice was tired. "Things have taken an unexpected turn and I don't know how to take it, much less how to break it to the others right now."
"What's wrong, Sammy?"
There was another pause. "She's not like she was, Dean. She-she's gone through-she's had to do-." Sam's voice broke. "Dean, if she hadn't killed that bastard I would have done so with my own hands!"
Dean put down the cover of his toilet and sat down. "She killed him."
"Yes. The moment she got the collar removed." Sam sounded close to breaking point. "But by that time he'd already fucked up her mind and made her an addict to some personality altering drug."
"She's a junkie?" Dean whispered, horrified, remembering the tiny little girl he'd cared for like a little sister.
"In the worst way possible." Sam sighed. "I-I'm with her...guardian...now. I-."
"Where are you?" Dean stood up once again.
"Give me specific directions, Sammy." Dean ordered, beginning to disrobe. "I'm on my way."
Sam ran his hand over his hair and turned at the sound of the door finally opening, and Lex Luthor emerged from the room he'd been in with Chloe for about an hour. He didn't seem relaxed and sated, as a man would be after filling himself with the pleasures of the flesh, so that gave Sam a moment's peace, though it was very little. He'd wanted to go into that room over and over again, but he had a feeling that Mercy wouldn't let him. And she might be a woman, but she was a part of this life, and Sam had never had to fight before.
He might have been called a 'mountain' before, but 'Mercy' had that glint in her eyes that Chloe and Lex did.
The glint that said they'd killed before and could do so again at the drop of the hat if provoked.
It left Sam feeling disoriented and wary.
He didn't like Chloe being in this ambient.
With these people.
He knew...he knew that Chloe had changed, that she was different, had done things, but he'd also known the girl she'd been for four years with them. He remembered the happiness, the innocent smile, the way her eyes sparkled with curiosity and eagerness.
This Chloe was muted, and at times completely dark.
"Have you spoken to anyone about finding Chloe?" Lex asked coolly, rolling up his sleeves.
"My brother." Sam announced slowly. "He's coming here as we speak. It will take a couple of days since he's driving from Lawrence, but..."
Lex turned to Mercy.
The redhead sighed. "I already informed the men while this one was on the phone." She folded her arms over her chest. "Dean Winchester is being picked up as we speak, and will be escorted here on a Luthorcorp jet. He should be here in a matter of hours."
"What?" Sam was shocked that this had been arranged while he was distracted, talking to his brother on the phone. "Dean has a fear of flying."
"That's no problem. He'll probably have been knocked out anyway." Mercy murmured.
Sam frowned, even more worried.
"Don't worry, other than a headache he should be right as rain." Mercy announced.
Suddenly something in the room Chloe had been left in exploded.
Lex and Mercy shared looks before Lex motioned with his head towards the room.
He didn't need to, Mercy was already on her way towards it, entering cautiously before closing the door behind her.
"Is Chloe alright?" Sam asked, taking a step towards the room.
Lex raised a hand, dark gaze stopping the younger man in his tracks. "You and I are going to talk, Winchester."
Having expected this since he'd been told to come, Sam took in a deep breath and raised his chin.
Lex raised an eyebrow, eyeing him for a moment, before speaking. "From Chloe's own lips, and from the records my father had of her and the other test subjects lives while under your family's care those four years, I know that you took care of her." He paused. "You mustn't be able to recognize her. She has...changed...since then I suppose."
"Yes, she has, but she's still the same girl." Sam frowned.
Lex snorted, darkly amused. "I mightn't have known Chloe before, but I can assure you, she is not the same person."
Something else exploded.
Sam frowned, turning towards the room. "What' s going on in there?"
Lex sighed, sitting down once more. "While under the influence of the red meteor rock she can be...destructive."
Before Sam could ask anything else, the lights dimmed and took on a red tint.
Lex looked up, eyes narrowing. "Go behind the desk."
"What?" Sam frowned.
"Now." Lex hissed towards him.
Confused, Sam did as said, feeling stupid.
And then he heard the shots being fired outside the doors.
"Oh fuck!" He hissed, ducking behind the desk.
Lex went to stand in the middle of the room, and the doors were kicked in, the bodies of the men guarding falling in first before twenty men stormed in, all heavily armed, all aiming their guns at the young redhead.
"Luthor." One of the men stood forwards. "Your security was very lax."
"I wasn't expecting a visit." Lex announced calmly. "So, tell me Vince, to what do I owe your order stinking up my room?"
"You sure have a lot of mouth for someone surrounded and unarmed." Vince sneered, motioning towards the man on his right.
The man stepped towards Lex.
In a movement Sam nearly missed from where he was watching hidden behind the desk, Lex drew a blade from a hidden pocket inside his vest and threw the blade, causing the metal to embed itself in the man's throat.
He fell to the ground, dead.
"Not as unarmed as you would expect." Lex declared conversationally.
Vince growled. "You five!"
The five pointed to surged towards Lex.
His reflexes were amazing, as two more blades flew out, one embedding itself in one man's heart, and the other in his forehead. And then Lex ducked and twirled, foot connecting with the shin of the one who'd reached him first, causing him to fall to the ground. Lex followed him down and stabbed him in the chest with another blade before raising up in time to block the kick aimed towards him, instead grabbing the leg and swinging its owner into his other attacker. As the two stumbled to the ground, two more blades flew down and embedded in one of the man's groin, and in the other's neck.
Lex then turned towards the others, who had all cocked their guns.
Vince sneered. "Checkmate."
Lex chuckled. "You keep forgetting that in chess, the King isn't the only big player."
Everyone turned as the door was thrown open.
Chloe stood in a change of clothes, this time wearing a long, tight black dress. Her hair was up in a tight french braid, and her eyes were lined with darker kohl as she sashayed towards them.
"Chloe!" Sam hissed.
She ignored him, giving Lex a look up and down before walking passed him towards Vince, circling him, ignoring the guns trained on her. The girl stopped in front of Vince and reached for his tie, pulling him down towards her.
Sam watched, confused.
Why wasn't the man doing something?
Like ordering his men to shoot?
Chloe gazed deeply into Vince's eyes, before reaching up, caressing his cheek.
Vince seemed to melt in her touch, leaning into it, expression entranced.
The sixteen year old pulled him down farther, their lips connecting in a hungry kiss.
Sam's eyes narrowed and he shot a glance towards Lex, who looked annoyed and yet not surprised by this.
Chloe pulled away, still eyeing Vince, a serene smile on her face. "Put your gun in your mouth and pull the trigger."
And with a smile on his face, he pulled out his gun and did as told.
Sam's eyes widened as the shot echoed throughout the room, and blood spurted as the man collapsed, dead, on the ground.
The men looked terrified, dropping their weapons as they went to their knees, heads bowed.
"The Witch Queen
." Some whispered.
Sam stood slowly, feeling sick as he gazed at the body of the man who'd taken his own life without question after a kiss from Chloe.
The blonde looked at the body, hard, as if forcing herself to take in every detail of it.
Lex stepped up to her, arm going around her shoulder as he turned to the other men. "As you've inconvenienced me by shooting my guards, you'll be taking their place. Anyone with complaints can take it up with my right hand."
Their heads bowed lower.
There was silence.
Sam's eyes narrowed darkly.
Chloe was this guy's weapon.
How was this any better than when she was killing for Lionel?
The only difference was that there was no collar...but her feelings of being in debt were just as much a collar as the real thing had been.
Chloe turned to look at Sam, and her eyes were blank.
Sam stood frozen, remembering seeing a broken, beaten child in a hospital bed, eyes blank.
He was going to be sick.
