I have merely tweaked them for my story.Summary: Chloe Sullivan had a normal-ish life before the circle and John Blackwell turned her life upside down and gave new meaning to the unexplained weirdness that goes on in Smallville. Now life's a witch, she's a part of a circle she's not too sure she wants to be bound to, and not only do they have to worry about Witch-Hunters, but unknowingly to them another circle is on the hunt too.
They'd landed in the capital of Bucharest, and while Chloe couldn't speak a word of Romanian, her mother was apparently fluent enough for the locals to think she was local. It made the blonde wonder just how many of the years Moira had been missing she'd spent here in Romania, but she didn't ask, didn't know if she really wanted to find out the answers. They changed their money from American dollars to Romanian leu and boarded two large RVs her mother had managed to rent and had waiting for them the moment they left the plane, the woman (not surprisingly, Chloe supposed) had a Romanian driver's license, and as he'd been here not too long ago as well, Jason had an international driver's license which was valid as well. He'd be the driver of the other RV.
"Keep your receipts and I'll reimburse you when we get back to America," Chloe told her mother as they headed towards the luxurious RVs.
"I'm not asking you to." Moira raised an eyebrow.
"I know you're not," the blonde replied as she tightened her grip on the strap of her backpack. "I just prefer to reimburse you."
"You mean you prefer not to owe me anything," the older woman interpreted.
Chloe hesitated a second before she nodded. "Yeah."
Moira lowered her gaze before she cleared her throat. "I'll keep the receipts handy then."
"Good." The blonde turned to the others. "We're going to have to decide who is going in which RV with whom. Each RV seems to seat 5 and since we're ten, it's an even split so we're fine. Obviously Jason will be driving one RV and Moira the other."
"No offense, Coach Teague," Cassie moved towards Moira, "but I would feel more comfortable sleeping under the same roof as another woman."
"Me too." Diana gave him a little sheepish grin.
Jason chuckled, shaking his head. "None taken, girls. I was expecting that."
"I'm joining them." Chloe cleared her throat. "Leaves one space open and I'm going to have to vote in my brother for that space, out of propriety's sake."
Mikhail raised an eyebrow, apparently not too happy about this. "I get to be in the girl RV? Seriously?"
"Yes, seriously." Chloe nodded as she gave him a little shove in the "girl" RV direction. "You're the lucky winner."
"It'd be lucky if you weren't my sisters and she wasn't ancient," he grumbled as he moved past them into the vehicle.
"Who are you calling ancient?" Moira took offense to that, following the boy into the RV.
"Who's taking first watch as her Navigator?" Chloe didn't trust Moira driving alone without someone in the front passenger's seat keeping an eye on the map and where they were going at all times.
Cassie raised her hand. "I'll do it. I don't feel tired at all and I've wanted to drive in one of these things before. So I'll take first watch."
"I'm going to call the others." Diana pulled out her phone. "Let them know that we arrived safely."
"Thanks, you guys." Chloe smiled.
The girls returned the smiles before they piled into the RV as well.
Chloe turned towards the guys in time to see Lucas opening the door and entering with an "I call shotgun!"
She smirked as she turned to Jason. "There you go. Your co-pilot."
He nodded as he turned and followed Lucas into the RV without much more said.
The girl watched him go, admittedly disappointed, but she forced a smile onto her face as she turned to Adam, curling her arm around his. "So, let's see what the "boy" RV looks like."
"Lets." He smiled at her as he pushed the door open and held it for her as she entered, the boy moving up behind her.
Chloe stared around the RV, trailing her fingers along the wall as she moved. "Gotta say it, Moira's got style."
"S'not bad." Whitney threw his bags on one of the seats and threw himself down on it, looking around. "A bit too plush for my tastes though. I thought the whole idea of an RV was to go camping, and when you go camping, you got to rough it. Not have a mini 5-start hotel experience."
Chloe sent him a smile as she continued to drag Adam around with her as Zod apparently remained outside, the girl looking throughout the rooms, which were small but singles. There was also a very nice bathroom with a decent sized shower that could fit two.
"I have never been in one of these before." Adam stared at the jacuzzi tub that she had somehow managed to miss while staring at the shower. "I've always wanted to use one though."
"They didn't have one at the Tentagel House? I would have thought they'd have all sorts of luxuries there, them being a part of the Six and all." She then felt horrible for bringing up his family so close to their death and sighed as she went to hug Adam. "I'm sorry." The girl wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled in close as she hid her face in his chest, relieved when, after a second, his arms went around her, because it meant he'd forgiven her for her thoughtlessness. "That was really tactless of me. I didn't mean to bring them up so flippantly like that. I really didn't."
"I know." His voice was muffled slightly by her hair, his hands anchored at her waist. "It's okay."
"Is it? Are you?" she spoke into his neck, the girl having worried about this. "I know you have your brother, and that that's helped, but you still lost most of your family, Adam, right after you got them back. I-"
"That's why you've accepted AC so quickly even though he annoys you, isn't it?" Adam asked softly. "Because of me? To help me?"
She remained silent.
"That's why you've let him in as much as you have, for me, so that I don't have to feel torn in my loyalties."
The girl continued to remain silent.
"You're the most untrusting person I know and yet you've let both AC and Victor in quicker than you have anyone else – Vic because you have allowed AC and it would look hypocritical or suspicious of you if you do otherwise with Victor – and AC because he's my brother and you don't want me having to keep secrets from him and-"
"To be fair, Victor has proven himself on his own merits and-" Chloe tried.
"But admit it, it started out that way."
She breathed out hard. "Maybe it started out that way, but both have proven themselves to me in their own ways, even if your brother still annoys me a lot sometimes."
His grip on her hips tightened, drawing the girl closer. "I haven't been able to find a way to properly thank you."
"Don't be stupid. You don't need to thank-" Chloe tried to push away but found that Adam had her firmly held to him and that she couldn't move, the girl blinking as a blush began to climb up her neck as she realized just how closely pressed she was to him. "Um, Adam?"
"Thank you," he whispered into her hair.
Her lips twisted in a tender smile. "Silly boy."
His body tensed. "I'm not a boy."
She chuckled. "I know that."
"Do you?" His voice was disturbed, low. "I know you mother everyone you come into contact with, and the fact that I was sheltered given everything makes me seem more childlike and innocent in your eyes, but have you realized that while I haven't exactly experienced the events in one's life that would make me a man, I still am one?"
Chloe blinked, a little surprised at the topic, at the racing heart in his chest she could feel under her palm. She'd shared a room with this guy and never had he ever done anything remotely similar to this! Why all of a sudden-? "Adam? What are you-?"
Adam's fingers almost began a massage on her hips. "Have you even realized that I'm older than you? By a good couple of years? Because you treat me like I'm Byron's age."
A tremor of electricity shocked its way down her spine, Chloe letting out a little gasp as she gave a half-nervous, half-amused laugh. She tried to play this off as him maybe throwing a tantrum, her brothers were known to act out when they wanted attention, and yet even as she tried for a cool, playful smile her heart was in her mouth and her voice breathy. "I don't know, Adam. Do you hear yourself right now?" She realized two seconds too late she was about to provoke him, the words out of her mouth and already too late to take back. "You sound just as petulant as Byron does when he's in a mood."
Adam's eyes narrowed on her as he gripped her harder, pulling her to him, something in his gaze causing her stomach to summersault as her breathing grew more erratic as suddenly the air in the room began to grow hot, the girl unaware of her glowing bracelet.
What in the world-?
Someone cleared his throat loudly. "Am I interrupting something?"
Chloe swung her head towards the door to see Whitney leaning with his hip in the doorway, watching them with arms folded over his chest. "Huh?"
The Quarterback raised an eyebrow, a muscle in his cheek ticking slightly. "I need to use the bathroom."
Adam let Chloe go. "There's only one bathroom and I need it."
"You should have thought of that before, genius," Whitney snapped.
"Look, I'm sorry." Adam cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable. "It wasn't intentional."
"I heard Moira say there was another half bathroom somewhere actually, so, uhm." Chloe looked between the two of them, confused, hot, bothered, and needing to get out of there. "I, uh, I should be getting to the Girl RV." With that, she hurried past the boys and was more relieved than anything when she emerged from the RV and the fresh air hit her flushed face.
