Sherlock Holmes.....
12th-Jan-2010 10:11 pm
So...I just came back from Sherlock Holmes.

I went in thinking "Sherlock Holmes x Rachel McAdams....Sherlock Holmes x Rachel McAdams"...

I came out thinking "Sherlock Holmes x John Watson....Sherlock Holmes x John Watson"

Head meet desk.

Haha, me too.

yay! I'm not the only one!

I felt the exact same way. I got home and immediatly started looking for slash. Are you thinking about writing some? Because that would be epic!
13th-Jan-2010 04:33 am (UTC)
Actually, I AM considering it as one of my new OTPS....lol

You are not the only one! I'm shipping Watson/Holmes so hard now. I mean, hey are so gay for eachother, aren't they?
13th-Jan-2010 12:11 pm (UTC)
Totally! It was just so obvious! ESPECIALLY Holmes for Watson!

The Holmes/Watson relationship was one of the best things about the film. ANy scene featuring the two of them: arguing or trying ti solve the crime or even just reading the newspaper outloud would have been awesome.

I was shocked at how good chemistry Jude x Downey had. I hadn't expected that at all, but it showed in every single scene, just like you said.

if u think that the movie was gay, u should read some of the books. like, honestly, u would have to be thick as shit to miss their little moments cause i doubt the way they act sometimes towards each other is normal in those days. and for more proof, holmes states many times throughout the books that he will never marry and finds women uninteresting and untrustworthy. obvious much? i hope u do write ur own Sherlock/Watson fics. if u write them theyre bound to be good! theres already some good sherlock slash communities like Cox and Co on LJ. hope to see u there! :D

Thanks so much for having such faith in my writings!
And, I haven't read any of the books, but if Holmes said that about women it IS a big "HELLO!" about the subject!
I must check out that community! Thanks for telling me about it!

thats wot he really is like when it comes to girls! unlike the movie, Holmes never had any sort of romantic relationship with Irene Adler. he only respected her and was a little put out that she bested him. but he actually does say in 'the sign of four' that the most winning woman he had ever met was hanged for killing 3 children for their insurance money. Watson does later get engaged in that book and after he tells Holmes, Holmes has another shot of cocaine. depressed much. they also hold hands sometimes throughout the series. Holmes is never seen to have had a relationship. Watsons a bit of a slut cause he gets married 3 times but ends up always going back to live with Holmes. awwww! XD

My thoughts exactly!!!!

Great minds....:D

I haven't even seen this film yet and all I've been hearing is that Watson/Sherlock is practically canon. And seeing as you personally turned me into a slash!whore I'm blaming you if this turns into another one of my obsessions.

mwahahahaha *evil laughter* My slash powers know no limits! lol

watch it! you'll love it...AND the sherlockxwatson

I'm just randomly commenting to remind you that-

I'm holding you personally responsible for the fact that I've spent all day reading Sherlock/Watson fic. (I saw the movie on Friday, the writers aren't even being subtle about the big gay love. It's awesome...and also all your fault)

And by the way I highly recommend paperclipbitch's These Things Were Promises. As it is one of the best Holmes/Watson
fic I've found so far.

*glares and bitterly blames you for all slash related thoughts*

*Then storms off in a huff, confident that you are suitably ashamed of yourself*

Yep, they weren't being subtle at all! They were all teasing us so obviously and deliciously! lol
Must go check out that fanfic!

I had your comment in mind when I went to see the film and I have to say I could see it in the first scene of the movie. The scenes with Irene did not hold the same amount of chemisty and tension that the ones with Watson did.

I also agree with emmypf above. Conan Doyle wrote the relationship into his stories to begin with. I don't know if it was ever really suppose to be more than a homosocial relationship but my lit class loved pointing out all the instances where Holmes was crushing on Watson.

I really think i need to read those books!
