Disclaimer: Don't own
Summary: Two years later, Chloe runs into Sam, and he just doesn't know what to make of the dangerous bitch she's become. But her bad attitude and edgy clothes aren't what he has the most trouble adjusting to. Lex Luthor is.
When Chloe came out she was poised, and calm, and her makeup wasn't a mess anymore. There was a difference between Sam and Dean, and she didn't know how Dean would react. He'd always been like an older brother for her, someone who maybe wasn't as gentle as Sam, but much more honest in sometimes a painful way. She'd always appreciated that aspect of his.
But now it terrified her.
What if he took one look at her, was disgusted, and let her know just how disgusted she made him?
This was why she hadn't wanted to get into contact with them after her freedom had been given to her by Lex.
She was...dirty...and disgusting...and she'd wanted them to keep the image of the other Chloe in their minds.
Dean turned, eyes widening as he saw her. "Little Bean?"
Something caught in her throat at one of the many nicknames he'd given her. "Dean."
"You look like some weird emo chick." He told her before scooping her up in his arms, hugging her tightly.
She was frozen in shock, clearing her throat and patting his back as he lowered her.
At a loss of what to say or what to do, she gave him an awkward smile. "I'm sorry you were knocked around by the boys."
Dean ignored her words, eyeing her in worry. "You're pale, and skinny."
She blinked, looking down at her body.
Lex had never complained about how she looked.
"Have you no tact?" Tess scoffed. "She's a teenaged girl! Do you want
to give her a complex?"
"Oh, this is rich, coming from the woman who makes her kill people
." Dean turned on Tess.
"I don't make
her do anything." Tess spat.
"I don't see you trying to stop
her." Dean growled.
"Guys!" Chloe snapped, glaring at both of them. "If neither of you can act like adults, then you don't have any business here! I'm busy, I have a job to do, and if you're just going to snip at each other then-."
There was a knock on the door.
Chloe turned towards the doors. "Come in."
It was the tall man with the beard.
The one Lex wanted her to reprogram.
Chloe gulped, sending a look in Dean's direction.
She didn't want him seeing this.
She didn't want any of them seeing this.
Didn't want them watching as she took this man's will from him.
This was always so much easier while under Red K.
Closing her eyes, Chloe took in a deep breath before smiling serenely at the man. "Please, step this way. I need to speak to you."
The man was wary.
He should be.
Yet he did as told, coming into the room.
"What's going on?" Dean asked, eyes narrowing.
Chloe ignored him, holding out her hand for the man to touch.
He did so.
And it was much more than enough to connect with his brain waves, to virtually see in his brain, and tweak this and bend that.
"You will serve Lex Luthor from now on, protecting him with your own life. Won't you?" She asked.
"Yes, I will." The man nodded slowly. "If that is what you wish me to."
"It is." She let go of his hand. "Now go. And if there are any murmurs against him, you let me know."
"As you wish." He turned and left, filled with purpose.
Chloe sat down, gazing at her nails.
"What the fuck just happened?" Dean asked, looking around him in annoyed confusion. "What did you just do to him?"
"Lex Luthor doesn't have the time or patience to cultivate loyalty in his men. And he doesn't need to. Not as long as Chloe can force it in them." Tess murmured darkly, going to sit down across from the blonde.
"Don't speak about him like that." Chloe snapped, glaring at the redhead. "Lex is busy. Any little help I can give him-."
"Little help?" Tess scoffed. "Chloe, you do everything for him! You do any more and he'll be the king of the world!"
Chloe stood. "That's enough!"
Tess stood as well. "You don't scare me, Chloe."
"I should." She snarled. "You know better than to cross me, Mercer. I saved your life, but I can end it just as easily."
"Go ahead." Tess threw her hands out. "Kill me. Or mess with my self-will just like you did with that guy. Come on. Make me a thoughtless drone who will only sing Luthor's praises. Brainwash me just like you were
Chloe's body trembled. "You go too far."
Tess went silent.
Feeling humiliated, Chloe couldn't even look at Sam and Dean as she stormed out of the room.
She lost herself in the hotel, eventually finding her way up to the roof, looking down at the countless lights and signs.
The blonde sat down on the side of the building and bit her bottom lip, emotions fighting gladiator-like within her.
She closed her eyes tightly, trying to keep the tears back.
"I shouldn't have left you alone."
Chloe's eyes widened and she wiped them furiously. "Lex! What are you-?"
He sighed and came to sit down next to her. "I ran into Sam. He was looking for you. I knew you'd be on the roof, so I came to find you." He reached for her, pulling her to him as he rested his back against the wall. "Want to tell me what happened?"
"Not really." She whispered, clutching at his shirt. "I just-too much happened in these last couple of hours. Too much emotion. I needed a break. I can't handle all of this at once."
"You can handle anything." He scoffed.
She smiled. "Shut up."
He chuckled. "No respect."
"Deal with it." She closed her eyes. "You love me, right?"
There was a pause. "You know I do."
"Prove it." She pulled away so she could straighten and then straddle his lap, gazing into his eyes. "Take me."
He sighed, raising a hand to cup her cheek. "Chloe, I think your first time shouldn't be on the roof of some random hotel."
"I don't see anything wrong with this rooftop." She pleaded, grabbing the front of his shirt. "I want you, Lex. I need you. I need to know that you love me, that that's not going to change."
"Why would that change
?" Lex whispered, eyes scanning her face. "What happened down there? Why are you like this?"
"I kissed Sam." She challenged, all the emotions in her swirling chaotically. "I kissed him and I feel guilty but I'd kiss him again. Do you want me to kiss him again? Do you prefer him to be the one to-?"
He cupped the back of her neck and pulled her to him, kiss hard and dirty.
Chloe melted into him, whimpering into the kiss.
She needed this.
She needed to know that someone could love her.
All broken and messed up as she was.
Lex knew what she did, unlike Sam Lex knew the real her, the monster that hid under the skin of a human...and yet he was still here for her.
He could still, somehow, love her.
How could she not do everything in her power to help him?
Every day he saved her over and over again.
How could she not pay him back?
Not that she could ever repay him for all he had done for her...always did for her.
She hadn't even realized she was crying until Lex tore his lips from hers to kiss the salty trails, lapping at her skin.
This wasn't like with Sam...but this was real.
Lex knew the real her, had seen her at her worst, and wasn't disgusted.
Lex wouldn't leave her.
Wouldn't send her away.
Wouldn't let her go.
He wanted her.
He found use for her.
And he laughed with her.
He had a nice laugh.
And when he patted her head after a job well done she felt accomplished.
"Tell me you love me." She pleaded, feeling the tears falling harder as she broke down, clutching at his shirt as she cried. "Please
tell me you love me. You still love me, right? You haven't stopped? I haven't done something to make you stop loving me, right?"
"Chloe." He whispered against her skin. "I love you."
She closed her eyes tightly. "Thank you.
" The girl cried heartbrokenly, afraid to let go of his shirt. "Thank you
Lex held her close, pressing a kiss to her forehead, letting her cry against his chest.
Neither realized they'd been watched.
Sam sat down on the sofa, gulping around the lump in his throat.
"I don't-I don't understand." Dean whispered as he covered his face with his hands. "Why was she crying? Why was she begging him-?"
Tess leaned against the wall, eyes suspiciously red as she folded her arms over her chest. "She's so screwed up. So fucking screwed up."
"She was thanking
him for loving her. As if he was doing her some big favor." Sam finally spoke, his voice choked. "She's so scared he'll stop loving her, she's terrified
"She doesn't think anyone else can love her." Tess sniffled, looking so annoyed. "You love the Chloe you used to know, both of you do, and she knows that. Lex is the only one who knows the full-extent of what has been done to her and what she's done. He's the only one
who really knows this
Chloe, and she knows it."
"I don't fucking care." Dean snapped. "That little girl has been someone's tool ever since she was born, and even if that dude really loves her, he's using her too. She needs to heal. She needs to be somewhere where she isn't constantly doing this shit. Someplace she can be a teenager. Not some fucking Queen of the Damned!"
Sam's mind replayed, over and over again, Chloe's pleading, her broken voice.
His girl was so damaged.
He covered his face with his hands, shoulders shaking silently as he cried.
