Summary: Chloe Sullivan had a normal-ish life before the circle and John Blackwell turned her life upside down and gave new meaning to the unexplained weirdness that goes on in Smallville. Now life's a witch, she's a part of a circle she's not too sure she wants to be bound to, and not only do they have to worry about Witch-Hunters, but unknowingly to them another circle is on the hunt too.

"These are the Ancient Scrolls of one of the first Dragons, said to have been able to see the future. His life and gift are long lost but his foresight is left to us in the form of the Scrolls of Krypton Darkseid," Jor announced, motioning to the many lengthy scrolls.

"Krypton?" Zod frowned. "I have never even heard of that name."

"The Ruling Council kept much of him, especially what he saw, a secret," Jor admitted. "One of the things he saw was written in these scrolls and became known as Rao's Prophecy. It was foretold that a descendant of Krypton's own bloodline would be a great Dragon unlike any other. It spoke of the destruction of our kind, of our home, and stated that one Dragon, the descendant of Darkseid, would rise from the ashes and start a new paradise, a utopia, for our species, which will be made new somehow."

Zod frowned, thinking back to all that they'd learnt about Rao's plans. "That's what he's planning on doing. We believe Rao is going to decimate the human and witch population of Earth to make way for Dragon domination of that dimension, to breed a new kind of Dragon through Chloe and this half Dragon he had made her for."

"There will be no hope, not for our race or for this girl, if you do not get her back to her dimension and find the Stones of Power to finish the ritual." Jor placed the chain with the key around Chloe's neck. "I will remain here, searching through the scrolls in depth to better understand this prophecy, as I was never allowed to truly study it before." He eyed the unconscious girl before looking up at Zod. "You mustprotect this girl, Dru-Zod. If she dies, we as a species will die with her and never rise again." He sighed. "Go. Take her and the key."

"What if we have need of you?" Zod frowned, shaking his head. "Or if you find something? Forgive me, Councilman, but you do not know where we are on Earth. You need to come with us. Gather what you need, the scrolls, and come with us to Earth." He rested his hand on the older man's shoulder. "This dimension holds nothing for either of us anymore. Our only hope lies in Earth now."

Jor looked away. "My wife, my son, they lay dead where they were killed. They deserve a proper ceremony, they all do. I must see to it that all those who died here receive the respectful treatment they deserve and not leave their corpses to rot."

Zod nodded, able to understand. "Councilman Jor, I-"

Suddenly Chloe screamed, sitting straight up in her seat.

Zod tried to move towards her but he found he couldn't move, the Major frozen in position as all around, he could see darkness springing forth from every corner of the room, the ground beneath them shaking. "What is going on?"

"I don't know." Jor looked around him, eyes wide.

Chloe continued scream, almost as if she didn't need to breathe, the sound growing longer and louder, and each time it did, the shaking grew worse, the shadows darker, until they finally shot to the middle of the room and began to circle around in a ring rapidly before forming what looked like a solid black circle.

Jor's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the symbol. "Black Zero."

Finally, once the symbol had formed, Chloe stopped screaming, the girl gasping in desperate breaths as she turned towards both Zod and Jor. "We have to leave. Now."

Zod found he could suddenly move once more, the Dragon confused, yet he moved towards her. "Are you okay?"

"There's no time to talk." Chloe shifted so she was sitting up with her legs hanging off of the floating slab. "We all need to leave this dimension."

"Chloe, you've-" Zod tried.

"Zod!" Chloe slipped off of the slab onto the ground, stumbling slightly before regaining her footing. "This whole dimension is about to get torn apart! It's about to be destroyed! We have to leave. We don't have much time!"

Zod's eyes widened as he stared down at her in confusion. "How could you know that?" He turned to ask Councilman Jor if there was any way that Chloe's ramblings could be true, but he didn't have to ask as the Major's eyes fell upon the Councilman already in action.

Jor held a bag in his hand, desperately chanting at the wall with the symbols, removing certain artifacts from as the symbols disappeared to reveals pockets in the walls. "Zod, grab that bag over there and take the scrolls! Hurry! Take them all! Do not leave any behind!" The Councilman turned to Chloe. "Grab a bag and throw in whatever you can take. Within this room are the Dragon race's most prized and important artifacts. They must survive!"

"We don't have time for this!" the girl pleaded. "This whole dimension is going to be destroyed! We need to go now!"

"If you want any hope of finding the Stones of Power, much less defeating Rao, you will need what is inside this room," Jor told her.

"The Stones are missing?" Chloe's eyes widened.

The Councilman nodded. "So I advise we stop talking and hurry."

Chloe was already moving, the girl grabbing a bag and throwing things inside.

Zod looked between the two of them before his gaze went to the black circle in the middle of the room, his eyes narrowing as he sprung into action and headed towards the scrolls.

Oliver leaned forwards, eyes narrowed. "If you're lying to me…"

"I'm not." Patricia shook her head. "Davis has the essence of the Salamander who named himself Steppenwolf after evolving into being able to shift into human form, and he was a guinea pig. Proof that those genes could be grafted onto a living witch without the witch dying. He was the exact guinea pig that Lionel needed. Faora believes that it was all her idea to smuggle Davis through, she doesn't realize that she was subtly manipulated to do everything. Davis was dying anyway, so if he died through the procedure – no harm, no foul. But Davis lived, proving that Apokaliptian magic could be grafted onto witch magic, with the side benefit that the experience and the rituals were so extensive and intensive that they robbed the person of their memories. It was the perfect way to safeguard the safety of the person until they came of age and their magic activated. They'd just need someone from Apokalips to perform the rituals for them to be successful."

"Then why don't you think it would be Lucas? Balcoin kept him for a reason," Oliver pressed.

"Lucas was kept because of a completely different reason. Lionel wanted to see what a child of his would grow up like while not under his thumb, without all the privileges his child would have, and he did everything in his power to make sure that Lucas was never adopted so he could watch the boy struggle and overcome his problems like he was some sick sort of reality tv show." Patricia frowned. "John took Lucas away from the orphanage as soon as he found out. He got a Luthor under his control who might have the ability to suck out life from people like some Luthors can, and Lucas would also be a playmate for Mikhail, who'd just recently come to live with John at the time, so it worked out for him."

Oliver eyed Patricia, getting back to their previous conversation. "Why not Julian then?"

"It could be Julian." Patricia had to admit that. "It's obviously not Tess – though if it is, that would be hysterically funny unless she's got a package down there I don't know about. The gods know she acts like she does."

Oliver glared at the woman. "She doesn't."

"So, Julian or Lex." Patricia counted off on her fingers. "Lionel wouldn't use anyone other than one of his own children."

"And why is that?" Oliver wanted to know, tilting his head to the side.

"Because, this is about the end of the world as we know it and the building of a new world order." Patricia leaned forwards. "Lionel would want to make sure that his bloodline would be one half of that new bloodline."

Oliver frowned because he could not fight that argument. It made complete sense. "And you just decided it was Lex without any concrete evidence."

Patricia sighed. "Who is the one who'd been hell-bent on finding her and claiming her for himself ever since he found out she existed, Oliver? Julian's wanted nothing to do with Lionel or his Circle of the Luthor House in general, but Lex? He's been obsessed with it, and then with her."

"He wanted to kill Chloe before you convinced him she was worth more to him alive," Oliver reminded her. "His first plan had been to kill her and suck out her magic for himself."

"Yeah, and how long did any plan of his to dominate her last upon meeting her?" Patricia wanted to know, eyebrow raised. "I haven't seen her around him but you have. What can you tell me about that, Ollie?"

"Don't call me that." Oliver took in a deep breath, hating the fact that he couldn't really say much. "I actually haven't seen him around her that much, it's mostly been Jason. I've been with Tess doing other things, like being tortured."

Patricia looked bored. "If we're going to work together, you're going to have to get over that, especially considering you didn't get it as bad as you could have."

"Fine." Oliver sighed, trying to think harder. "Tess did say that Chloe had a strange effect on Lex."

Patricia perked. "Strange effect how?"

Oliver shrugged. "I don't remember, but she said that Chloe was having a strange effect on Jason and Davis as well, so I wouldn't take it all that seriously considering that was probably just the Enthrall pheromones that girl has seeping out of her pores like crazy. From what I see, she has that affect on most men she comes in contact with, people even, considering the girls have a crazy loyalty thing going on as well."

Patricia narrowed her eyes, finger tapping her lips.

The whole room shook violently, things came crashing down and cracks began to appear in the ground.

They weren't even close to getting all they needed from the room.

All around them, they could hear explosions and things falling and being destroyed as the dimension seemed to be torn to pieces.

"We have to go now!" Zod yelled to the Dragon they were with. "We have to leave the rest behind! We mightn't even make it as it is!"

"No!" The older Dragon shook his head. "We cannot leave anything behind!"

"Councilman Jor, you are the Gatekeeper, you better than I know that once the gateway becomes too unstable, we will be unable to cross over!" Zod snapped, throwing down his bag as a large fissure appeared in the ground at their feet. "We have to go, now!"

Chloe looked around her. "It's too late."

The Dragons turned to look at her.

Chloe could feel the whole dimension crying out to her, screaming like a million voices in pain, and knew that there was no way that they were going to be able to get out of here in time. There were only seconds left. The blonde didn't understand how she could feel this, couldn't explain the intense connection she had with this dimension ever since she'd awoken knowing that the whole place was about to be destroyed, that Rao's work with it had yet to be finished, but she trusted her gut instinct. "We're not going to make it out of here, there's no time to leave."

Zod moved towards her. "We have to try."

"There are still things in here that we need." Jor looked around him, the desperation clear on his face. "We cannot risk losing anything in this room!"

The fissures all around them grew as the shaking of the explosions grew in magnitude, rocks beginning to fall.

On instinct, Chloe threw her hands out to her sides, forcing her tired, strained magic to shoot out, the shield only big enough to encompass her and Zod, leaving Jor trapped outside of its protection. The girl breathed in and out, the shield slowly expanding to engulf Jor as well.

"What is this?" Jor asked, looking around him in surprise. "Is this a form of the Orb?"

"No." Chloe shook her head, voice strained as she felt her eyes shift reptilian, the shield growing larger and larger. "This is all me… and I'm not sure this is going to hold… In fact, I'm pretty sure it won't." And yet she had to try, couldn't just sit there and die, the girl letting out a cry as the shield disappeared into the walls, ceiling and floor around the whole room, encircling them in a pearl-like barrier.

Suddenly the world around them exploded like a bomb had gone off at the same time, the force of the magic hitting the barrier from every side and nearly driving Chloe to her knees as she cried out in pain.

All around them, the stone walls and the ground broke away, magic, fiery explosions and projectile rocks battering against the barrier as the dimension tore itself apart from its core.

A line of blood trailed down from Chloe's nose, her solar plexus on fire. The barrier wavered as the world rocked under her feet but she grit her teeth and stiffened her arms out at her sides, screaming as the pain, as the burning, began to grow too intense, each breath slowly becoming too hot.

Fire curled around the barrier as the world seemed to fall away from around it.

Sweat dripped down Chloe's trembling body, the girl feeling her back inflame, her face feverish as if she were coming down with a horrible fever. She could feel slight cracks beginning to form on her barrier and desperation filled her, the girl closing her eyes tightly and thinking of home, of all the people she wanted to go home to. She thought about her family, her friends, of the war that would be left on their shoulders if she died here, the war they would never be able to win.

She then thought of the only memory she had of Gabe Sullivan, the one memory that Granny Goodness hadn't been able to remove from her mind, that Chloe had been able to cling to desperately. It might only have been one memory, but that one memory meant the world to her, and it empowered her more than anything else, had gotten her through some of the hardest situations of her life, and it would get her through this.

Eyes flying open, Chloe screamed, power emerging from her visibly and plastering itself against the inside of her barrier, filling in the fissures, sealing them. For the first time, she could feel Scales and Claws inside of her, the two magics as weak as she was but just as determined, curling around themselves and joining forces, drawing from something deep inside of her and siphoning it out of her, one magic feeding one of her palms and the other the other.

"Councilman Jor." Chloe could barely recognize her voice, it was so horribly strained and hoarse. "I need you to give me permission in your role as Gatekeeper."

"To do what?" The Councilman's voice was filled with awe as he stared at the barrier around the room protecting them (so far) from the exploding dimension. "What could you possibly need my permission to-?"

"Councilman," Zod interrupted. "Please, I ask that you do as she says."

The older Dragon in human form looked between them. "In my role as Gatekeeper of the 28 known dimensions – soon to be 27 – I give you permission for whatever you are about to do."

"Thank you." The wave of pain nearly drove Chloe to her knees but she kept upright, closing her eyes tightly as she began to imagine the Balcoin symbol in the Bleeding Caves, not sure she could actually do what she was going to do. She'd done mass teleportation before, yes, that was true, but she'd never done something like this before. Instead of merely trying to teleport every person inside, the girl was attempting a fool's mission. A part of her was begging that she tell Jor and Zod to pick up the bags they'd filled and to cut their losses, that she might have enough in her to teleport the three of them and the bags back to the Caves, and yet Jor's words haunted her. The Stones of Power were missing and what she needed was inside of this room.

It had to be true. Why else would Rao destroy the world he'd massacred? There had to be something that he was trying to cover up, to keep hidden, and she couldn't take the risk that the three of them had managed to throw that thing in the bags they'd collected and that it wasn't being left behind to be destroyed with the rest of this dimension. If she was to have any chance of surviving, much less winning this war against Rao, she needed what was inside of this room. If that meant she was going to die trying then fine. Without the Stones of Power, she'd die anyway. At least this way some of the things might get through and the others might have a chance. It was a risk she was more than willing to take.

The image of the Balcoin symbol in the Bleeding Caves fixed itself deeply in her mind, before, surprisingly enough, she could feel herself connecting with both the Bleeding and the Crystal Caves. She could feel their magics combining before shooting towards her like a beacon, fixing on her shield, anchoring onto her, connecting her to Earth and to them.

As the world was destroyed around her, Chloe experienced a second of silence, of peace, as her caves signaled for her like a beacon. And then in a twinkling, in the blinking of an eye, her Balcoin necklace exploded in blinding light, bathing the inside of the shield in its brightness.

And then they were gone.

Holy motherfucking hell!!!!! Rao not only committed mass genocide but he fucking blew up the his world.

Didn't ask for nothing yeah right. Ohhh Lionel. We know you be shady. Now I'm kinda hoping it is Lex because knowing how shady and twisted Lionel is I'm surprised he didn't set it up for himself to be the Adam to Chloe's Eve.

Wow is Chloe's powers growing stronger or have they been there all along and she is now just tapping into them??

Yeah, he means BUSINESS.

The desperation of the moment helped Chloe tap into a tiny bit of the power that Rao's dying to get his hands on and train her to use "for the right reasons".
