Summary: Chloe Sullivan had a normal-ish life before the circle and John Blackwell turned her life upside down and gave new meaning to the unexplained weirdness that goes on in Smallville. Now life's a witch, she's a part of a circle she's not too sure she wants to be bound to, and not only do they have to worry about Witch-Hunters, but unknowingly to them another circle is on the hunt too.

When the blinding light and magic swept back within her like a flood, everything around them settled violently, sending the trio to the ground with cries.

Chloe had never felt so dry, so weak, so very powerless in her whole entire life, and that was counting before she even knew she was a witch! The blonde lay on her side, her whole body shivering in aftershocks, cold-sweats seeping from her pores and causing her clothes to stick to her body, her hair plastered to her face. She couldn't look up, couldn't move from the fetal position she was in, but she knew without a doubt that she was somewhere deep in the Bleeding Caves. Somehow she'd done it, she'd managed to move the whole room – ceiling, floor and walls – into the Bleeding Caves and had integrated them into it, had made it her own. She could feel the Bleeding Caves joining into the cracks, the fissures of the structure, mending it, becoming one.

The Dragon and Witch energies, magics, clashed visibly at first, recognizing that they were different, and then Chloe cried out as her body was levitated in the air, the magics zapping into her as one, finding their common ground within her. They seemed to dance within her like electricity, merging, combining, the witch crying out in pain and yet gritting her teeth against the desire to fight it, letting the magics meld and unify as the Caves and the Room solidified together.

Finally, finally, it ended, the Room and Caves fully accepting and merging with each other as one, and Chloe could feel her body being lowered back to the ground and yet she didn't make it to the floor, warm arms encircling her.

Chloe curled into those arms with a whimper, her whole body sore as she turned her head into Zod's shirt, biting into the material to stifle her scream of pain as another trail of blood made its way down her nose.

"You brought the whole chamber back to the dimension of the humans," Zod whispered, holding her close. "You are utterly terrifying."

Chloe clenched her teeth into his shirt, crying tears of agonized pain as she curled into him, her whole body trembling.

"Chloe?" Zod tightened his grip on her. "What's wrong?"

"Place her back on the Ceremonial Altar! Now!" Jor ordered, hurrying to get something.

"The Ceremonial Altar? You mean the slab?" Zod asked, his voice odd.

"Now, Major."

She could feel the hesitance in Zod's body. "What are you not telling me, Councilman?"

"I know you are protective of her, but I am trying to help save her life, Major Zod." Jor's voice was strained. "Do not make my job more difficult."

Chloe could feel the strength slipping from her, the blonde's grip on Zod's shirt weakening.

Zod gazed down at her with wide eyes, looking suspiciously close to worried before he reached down and brushed his thumb against her cheek, the digit coming away with blood. "You are crying tears of blood again. Your cannot continue to hemorrhage so much blood." He looked up at Jor before narrowing his eyes and moving towards the floating slab she'd awoken on, the Dragon resting her gently on it, the girl too weak to protest. "Councilman, what is happening to her?"

"It is the strain of the incomplete ritual draining her of her life." Jor went through one of the bags desperately. "It would not be this desperate this quickly had she not used such tremendous power and energy saving us as she did. It's sped up the process substantially and if we don't find a way to slow it down, she's going to die on that slab and all of this will have been in vain."

Chloe felt cold, so very cold, and her fingertips were numb.

Zod narrowed his eyes. "What are you looking for? I may be able to help."

"To help slow down the process that is claiming her life, we need to find a lead box, about this big. Within it is something that will help." Jor sent a look backwards to Chloe when he heard her cry out in agony. "We must hurry! We do not have a lot of time!"

Zod nodded, grabbing another bag and beginning to look through it.

Laying on her side, curled up in the fetal position on the Ceremonial Altar, Chloe watched them search for this lead box and wondered if it was her of if the room was slowly beginning to get dimmer and dimmer with each passing minute.

"All I'm saying, man, is that he shifts into a huge Dragon. That's his true form, so it's fair to assume that even in this human form, he retains some of his natural… attributes." Greg made a face as he pointed down to his own crotch area. "That's got to either be a nightmare or, well, damn. You've got some stiff competition, pun intended."

Whitney stared at Greg in visible horror. He'd been feeling queasy and uneasy for a while now, but this whole conversation made him feel even worse. "You've given this way too much thought."

"All in the name of science, I assure you." Greg lifted his hands up before his phone rang. He pulled it out of his pocket and raised an eyebrow at the caller ID as he brought it to his ear and answered the call. "Cassinator, what's up?"

Whitney smirked, amused by the nickname.

"Yeah, of course I know where Dee is, why?" He frowned, standing as he covered the speaker of the phone and turned to Whitney. "I've got to take this. We'll continue our conversation when I'm done."

Whitney shook his head, really not wanting to finish that conversation.

Greg ignored him and walked away, closing the door behind him.

Whitney leaned hard against the chair, moving so that he was balancing on the back legs, the boy staring up at the ceiling, his hands resting on his upset stomach. His solar plexus was beginning to burn slightly. What the hell was this intense unease that kept growing and growing inside of him?

And that was when he tasted it: the metallic in his mouth.

The boy shot forwards, the seat righting loudly in the room as the taste of blood grew thicker in his mouth. Not only that, but he could hear Chloe's voice crying out to him, the sound soft and haunting, encircling him like some ghost. Chloe needed him, Chloe was in danger, Chloe was calling out to him, or a part of her was.

Where was she?

The Balcoin symbol in the Bleeding Caves flashed in Whitney's mind, those flashes urgent.

The caves.

She was in the caves!

The boy didn't hesitate, he raced out of the building as fast as his legs could take him towards the girl Zod had referred to as his Animus. He didn't know exactly what that meant, but he could feel it was true somehow, and he ran towards her, praying to anyone who might be listening that he made it on time.

"Hey." Cassie eyed Diana from the doorway.

Diana looked up from where she'd been looking at a picture of her and the man who'd raised her, the brunette putting the picture away. "Hey."

Cassie took in a deep breath as she stepped into the room. "I'm sorry about Charles."

Diana cleared her throat. "I'm sorry about Amelia."

The half sisters shared looks, both clearly uncomfortable.

"That's all I wanted to say." Cassie moved back towards the door.

"Thank you," Diana called after her.

Cassie paused before she nodded. "You're welcome." And with that, she left, feeling a little better than she had for a while, somehow.

Adam felt unease fill him, the boy clutching at his chest. He was supposed to be helping AC with the inventory but he couldn't concentrate. It wasn't AC's complaining about Lex Luthor and his continual belief that the Luthors were greater than the rest of the Six, no, it was something else. The Balcoin symbol in the Bleeding Caves flashing desperately before Adam's eyes and Adam had an uneasy feeling that it was connected with Chloe. Thanks to the spell that'd made him whole, Chloe had connected him to her magically and he could feel something for the very first time thanks to that connection. And it wasn't good. It wasn't good at all.

Whatever it was, it had to do with the Bleeding Caves and Chloe.

"He never liked me because I slept with his sister, you know," AC announced with a visible pout on his face. "He thought that I'd used Tess, but he did not realize that that girl basically raped me. I was a virgin when she went all kinky, tied me up and-!"

"AC – I think Chloe – She's in danger." And with that, Adam turned and raced out, running as fast as he could.

Chloe's body was becoming so fevered that she was glowing with it, the girl able to see the outline of her bones through her flesh as she cried, her clothes utterly soaked with her sweat. Hot blotches dominated her skin and steam was rising off of her body visibly as the girl gasped for air.

The tips of her hair began to turn silver.

She was dying.

"Where is it?" Zod snarled, far from the composed Dragon she knew him to be.

"Keep searching." Jor was now looking through another bag. "It has to be here, I am sure I put it in one of the bags. It would have been one of the first things I placed in the bags to bring with us."

Chloe screamed as she arched off of the floating, Ceremonial Altar when the pain jolted through her, the world going black for a moment before her sight returned to her, even if much dimmer.

Zod's gaze turned to her before it turned to Jor. "Councilman, think! Where did you put it? She is dying!"

"I – I – it would be – I am almost sure that – yes!" Councilman Jor pulled out a lead box from the bag victoriously, bringing it to the table by the Ceremonial Altar, opening it so that the lid was facing Chloe, hiding its contents to the girl, his face falling. "Oh."

"Oh what?" Zod snapped, coming towards them.

Chloe closed her eyes, teeth chattering. "T-that doesn't s-sound g-good."

"That is because it is not good." Jor took in a deep breath, his eyes raising to meet hers severely. "We have a serious problem."

"We have a serious problem." "*A* serious problem"?! Just one?!?! How did you pick Jor El? Chloe's dying, Apokalips is gone, Rao is coming, nefarious individuals are plotting (*cough*Lionel*cough*), houses have fallen, people are dead, stones of power are missing, Adam and Chloe have yet to kiss....

Seriously, though. You keep taunting me with it! Chladam FTW!

Also serious: I love this story so much. Please keep it up! Also, congrats on (almost) hitting 100 chapters. It's kinda weird, this is much longer than any of your other stories, but a lot of them just continue in series form, making it hard to judge which is longer overall.
