A Thing of Radiance
Title: A Thing of Radiance
Characters: Chloe, Bobby, Sam, Dean
Fandoms: Smallville/Supernatural
Rating: T
Disclaimer: Dont own
Summary: When Chloe found out about the ugly truth of her past, she went to find her father, Bobby Singer. Now hunting and living with him, Chloe must keep her meteor abilities hidden from other hunters or they might try to hunt her. According to Bobby she should especially keep it secret from a hunter named John Winchester, who only saw black or white...good and evil...and then Sam and Dean arrive.
Written for my LiveJournal Paranormal25 150 Prompt Table. Prompt of the day # 11: Radiant Boy

To say that things were awkward for the rest of the day was an understatement. Bobby, for his credit, seemed to realize something was going on other than what they'd told him (about Dean and Sam now knowing the truth) but he also seemed to realize that he most probably wouldn't want to know whatever it was they were keeping from him, so he never came out and asked what the hell was going on and why Chloe, Sam and Dean couldn't look at each other. It could also be the fact that Lois had the evilest grin on her face and the girl obviously intimidated him. Chloe wasn't sure exactly what it was, but thankfully Bobby never asked and that way she didn't have to lie-because there was no way in hell she was going to tell him the truth!

Chloe's body was sore all over, her legs trembled whenever she stood too long, and every time she sat...a jolt of pain speared through her.

Dax kept eyeing her with large, worried eyes.

Dante kept shaking his head and snorting, obviously reprimanding her.

Lois sat in the middle of the garden and watched the creatures within with open awe. "You know, those Muscaliets are growing on me."

Chloe gave a little smile, as the fairies began a race while riding the small critters' backs. "They are kinda adorable."

Most of the fairies though seemed just as tired as Chloe, probably due to the fact that they'd participated in the dancing until late hours of the night during the ritual. Some were even sleeping on open flower petals, snoring softly.

"So I was thinking," Chloe cleared her throat, gaze going to the large pasture behind the garden. "That should be inclosed, with a stable so the unicorns can have shelter over their heads at night or when it rains... And there's more than enough space to section off because I'm thinking unicorns aren't going to be the last arrivals who will be bigger and need space outside."

"Unicorns." Lois breathed out the word with glee. "Remember that time I declared I was one?"

"Yeah, I remember." Chloe let out a sharp chuckle. "You "came out" of the unicorn closet by appearing to Aunt Ellen and her friends with her dildo on your forehead."

Lois burst out laughing. "I remember wondering why she kept it hidden!"

Chloe shook her head, the laughter hurting a little inside yet felt good nonetheless. "I'm glad you're here, Lo."

"I'm glad too." Lois beamed. "Already this place is far more interesting and entertaining than college!"

Chloe worried her bottom lip. "You think the General will have a fit when he finds out you've dropped out?"

"He probably wont even realize that I have dropped out until a couple of months." Lois shrugged, and really didn't seem that concerned about it. "And anyway, it's not like I'm dropping out and not doing anything but slacking around. I'm going to be continuing my courses online. There's nothing he can say about that."

"I'm sure he will find a lot to say about it." Chloe rolled her eyes with a mutter.

"Well, he has no right to say anything." Lois shrugged once more as she feigned carelessness. "Anyway, he already has his perfect daughter."

Chloe sighed, so sad that Lois and Lucy weren't close, and blaming their father for it.

"So, enough about me." Lois turned towards her cousin. "Or well, my daddy issues." She pulled a dark strand behind her ear. "Let's talk about this Acolyte thing. From my understanding, I'm supposed to be your helper... And not as in cleaning up the house or anything because we both know that's not my forte." She made a face. "I'm trying to figure out how I can help you though, Lighthouse wise, and I'm drawing blanks."

"We could always ask Pamela." Chloe realized. "She helped answer a lot of my questions."

"Pamela?" Lois blinked.

"She's Robert's friend, and a medium." The blonde responded, realizing Lois had never heard of her before.

"Like, his "friend" friend... Or a friend?" Lois asked curiously.

"I have never wondered that before now." Chloe whimpered in distress, hand to her face. "Why did you give me that visual?"

"Hey! Your dad mightn't be Mark Harmon but he's got a little something something!"

"Lois!" Chloe cried, removing her hand from her face. "Do not seduce my father!"

"I was never planning on!" Lois gasped.

Chloe raised an eyebrow, disbelieving.

"That would be all sorts of incestuous!" Lois brought a hand to her mouth.

Chloe shook her head.

"Oh alright fine." Lois gave an exaggerated pout. "I will not actively seduce your father."

"Thank you." Chloe let out a little sigh.

"You're such a spoilsport." Lois looked highly amused despite the fact that she was obviously trying for more of a 'martyred' expression. "How am I supposed to have any fun? You have two guys here! You could have at least let me tease the remaining one!"

Sometimes Chloe just didn't know what to say to what came out of Lois' mouth.

"Talking about Sam and Dean..." Lois's smile went predatory. "What's your plan on that front?"

"Forget at all costs?" Chloe whimpered, shaking her head, refusing to say the word S-E-X because Ben was around and he didn't need to hear those sorts of things. "I can't believe this Council never warned me what kind of spell that was and the consequences that I'd face when I tried it!"

"Maybe they thought you already knew?" Lois played the devil's advocate. "I mean, c'mon, you're basically already doing the job. They probably thought you would know that sort of thing. It did ask you to go "Skyclad"."

Dante stood and stretched before taking off sprinting away.

Lois watched him go curiously. "Wonder where he's going to in such a hurry."

"Probably scouting the perimeter." Chloe shrugged. "He's been doing that since the break in."

"And you're saying that the guy who broke in hunts the supernatural." Lois shook her head, eyes dangerous. "He's obviously not very good at his job, is he?"

Chloe's lips twitched. "Well, to be fair, he seems to specialize in vampires..."

"Still." Lois snorted as her lips twisted into an evil little smile. "You've got supernatural beings up your walooza here. And he's some big bad hunter. It's ridiculous."

Chloe chuckled, shaking her head.

Sam figured he was somehow taking this better than Dean, and only by a little. They'd known for a while now that Chloe would someday get knocked up by one of them, but they'd figured they would wait and see which one it would end up being. They'd never once actually considered that they mightn't be able to figure out who the father was! Because, damn, if she got pregnant after last night they really wouldn't know who the father of those babies would end up being! And, well, after all the many goes they'd had of it in their magic-induced mating Sam knew that it would be a huge miracle if that girl wasn't already knocked up.

"Bobby's gonna kill us." Dean paced in front of the window, where he'd been watching Chloe and her (somewhat scary) cousin talk. "And when I say kill us I mean kill us."

"He's not going to find out." Sam, leaning against a wall, cleared his throat.

"Once she starts showing he's going to damn well find out!" Dean snapped, turning towards Sam, proving he too believed that last night could very well have been the point of conception of the next generation of Winchesters.

"We don't know for sure that she's pregnant." Sam tried to be the Devil's Advocate. "It could be another time-."

"Have you had some vision and not told me about it?" Dean wanted to know, eyes narrowed. "Because if you had you better tell me."

"I haven't had any visions," Sam sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "All I'm saying is that we shouldn't just rush to conclusions. She could very well not be pregnant. This could be the situation that leads to the night of conception."

Dean paused, eyeing him closely. "So you think one of us is going to sleep with her again and that's when she's going to get pregnant?"

"It's a possibility." He was basically pulling at straws here and could only offer a half shrug.

"So all we have to do is not sleep with her again and we don't get filled with Bobby's buckshots?" Dean wanted to know.

"Could very well be so." Sam nodded.

"Good." Dean nodded as well, clearing his throat. "Should, uh, be easy as pie then." He continued to nod. "All we have to do is be brotherly. That's all. It won't be hard at all. Especially now that magic isn't messing with us."

"Right." Sam's gaze slid away from his brother as he folded his arms over his chest. "Easy."

"Right." Dean cleared his throat and mimicked his brother's movements.

Thing is, neither of them would look at each other, and their tones weren't that firm either.

Something was going on, but Bobby was sure he didn't want to know.

Everyone was acting weird, except for the cousin, who was just a weird girl naturally so he took her actions in stride and didn't question them.

But the other three were definitely hiding something, something which made them very uncomfortable.

He knew he could find out if he wanted to, but his gut instinct told him that he'd regret knowing if he did, and he followed his gut in most things.

The hunter pretended to read a book, but was eyeing everyone over its pages.

Dean sat on the couch, the coffee table covered with the weapons he was cleaning.

Sam sat on the loveseat with his laptop on, fingers moving over the keyboards rapidly.

Lois turned on the radio, turned it up loud, and began dancing around as she put the plates and utensils on the table.

Dante, the hellhound, shouldered out of the kitchen's swinging door, Chloe on his heels, the blonde holding onto a large bowl of salad.

Dean's gaze went up to her before lowering immediately, the boy mumbling something to himself.

Sam did almost the exact same thing.

Lois removed the large bowl from her cousin's hands and placed it in the center of the table before turning to frown at Chloe, asking something.

The blonde was slightly bent over, a hand pressed to her lower stomach.

Bobby frowned, wondering if maybe she was getting the flu.

Chloe waved off Lois' concern before she walked back to the kitchen and the door swung closed behind her.

Lois made a face and followed behind her, strides determined.

At the sound of the door swinging shut behind the brunette, Dean looked up in that direction once more.

Sam did the exact same thing.

They then noticed that the other was looking, and that realization made them gaze away immediately, both of them mumbling.

Bobby eyed them with narrowed eyes.

Yes.

He most probably did not want to know whatever was going on here.

Lois handed the seated girl two painkillers and a glass of water, feeling a mixture of stark amusement and sisterly worry. She could understand the pain the girl was going through at this moment. She'd gone from virgin to, well, no sort of virginity left, all in the matter of one very exhausting night. The girl was in pain from every end and muscle and her legs were barely keeping her up but she wouldn't just sit down. Lois had offered to order pizza or something, but Chloe wouldn't hear of it, instead cooking and trying to pretend that all was fine. Sure, she was being a trooper all things considered, and she didn't want to get Bobby more suspicious than the sharp man already was, but Lois was beginning to think that Chloe should be resting in bed and recovering from last night.

"So I texted Pamela about you," Chloe declared, popping the painkillers into her mouth and drinking down the whole glass before continuing. "She'll get in contact with me when she has some sort of answer."

"Okay." Lois nodded as she pulled herself up to sit on the countertop. "You sure you don't want to lay down?"

"If I did Bobby's gonna know for sure that something's up."

As if the man didn't know something was up already.

The door swung open and Dean entered, looking everywhere but at them. "Uh, food soon ready?"

Lois raised an eyebrow, knowing this guy knew the food was ready.

Everyone could smell it.

"Yeah." Chloe nodded, beet red, unable to look at him. "We'll be eating in a couple of minutes."

"Good." He cleared his throat. "Do you, uh, need anything?"

Lois' lips twitched in amusement as she stared at those two, neither of them able to look at each other.

"I'm fine, thanks." Chloe blushed harder.

"Oh, okay." He ran his hand over his hair before he turned and left the kitchen.

Chloe groaned and covered her face with her hands.

Lois opened her mouth to declare how awkward Dean was in light of the situation, amused that the guy who came off as the 'smooth operator' had lost all his smoothness.

The door swung open again to reveal Sam this time, the giant clearing his throat. "Hey."

Chloe yanked her hands from her face, eyes wide, blush darker. "Hey."

Lois's gaze went between them, realizing her entertainment was about to continue.

"Are you okay?" Sam cleared his throat, able to look at Chloe and yet he fidgeted a lot. "You didn't look too good back there."

"I'm in a little pain." Her gaze lowered, her blush near purple. "It's to be expected."

"Oh." Sam was blushing as well and his fidgeting increased. "Uh, do you want me to go out for some painkillers or something?"

"Lois just gave me some." She whispered. "But thanks for offering."

"Yeah. Uhm." And with that Sam left.

Lois brought her hands to her mouth to stifle her sniggers, knowing she was being evil and unsupportive but unable to help herself or her gut-reactions to such levels of cuteness. "They're both so awkward! It's adorkable!"

"It's embarrassing." Chloe groaned as her hands returned to her face. "I'll never be able to look them in the eyes again!"

"I would insert some very innuendo filled remark here, but I don't think you'd be able to take it." Lois chuckled softly, shaking her head at her cousin.

Chloe pressed her hands harder to her face. "I need you to go somewhere with me after lunch."

"Sure." Lois nodded. "Where?"

"I'm thinking about getting a morning after pill." Chloe whispered into her hands.

Somehow, Lois still heard and understood, her eyes widening. "You sure about this?"

Chloe pulled her hands from her face and sighed, nodding, shoulders slumped. "Do you really see me able to handle all of this and a kid if I got knocked up? It wouldn't be fair to the kid. I'd never be able to give it the attention it deserves."

"This is about Aunt Moira, isn't it?" Lois frowned. "You think that because of her you'll be a bad mother." She made a face. "Well, guess what? She's not your biological mother. You won't get any trait from her."

"Nature versus nurture." Chloe whispered.

Lois came towards her and then bopped the girl on her head.

The blonde looked up at her.

The brunette sighed and knelt on her knees, staring into her cousin's eyes, raising a hand to wipe a stay tear. "You're going to be okay."

Chloe stared deep into her cousin's hazels before hugging her tightly.

-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-

Pamela couldn't help it, the whole situation was so deliciously fun! Bobby would probably blow a gasket if he he ever found out, but she thought it was so sinfully fun and was somewhat jealous of the blonde for being in the middle of a sexy sandwich. Just the thought of those two having their hands on her-Pamela gave a little meow as she grinned evilly, enjoying the idea immensely. Sadly though, according to the card spreads she kept laying down before her, she was never going to be able to enjoy the two Winchester boys she'd eyed in the pictures Bobby swore he kept well hidden. Nope. It would seem the boys whom Bobby loved as sons were gonna end up being, well, very close to that once this was over.

She kept pulling out certain combinations of cards that, well…

It could be nothing.

And yet...

Pamela nibbled on her bottom lip before reaching out and grabbing her cellular, speed dialing one of her contacts as she continued to look over her newest spread.

"Yes?" The woman on the other end answered, not sounding at all surprised to hear from her given everything.

"Can't you at least pretend to be surprised I'm calling?" Pamela pouted. "It's not like I call you often or anything."

"I'm psychic Pam."

"Fine." She rolled her eyes, pouting further because Missouri just never let her have any fun. "Do you have any idea where John is hiding?"

There was a pause. "I might. Why?"

"Because I think he's going to want to pull his head out of his ass and go visit his sons, very soon." Pamela gazed at the most recent combination, eyeing the Ace of Cups and the Ten of Cups before lifting the Empress. "I think he's going to be a grandaddy."

-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v -v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-v-

Chloe gazed at her plate as everyone ate, digesting what her last trip to the bathroom had revealed. She was spotting, her period was coming down. It was a little early, but she could get that, she'd been very stressed. The blonde closed her eyes and listened to Lois grilling Bobby on something or the other, the boys getting a word in every couple of minutes. Thankfully Lois was keeping everyone's attention off of Chloe and the blonde was very grateful for this. There was a lot on her mind and she didn't know how she'd be able to do this if everyone's attention had been one her.

At least, at least now she didn't have to worry about bringing a baby into this madness, about putting it into constant danger. The thought of her line of work endangering her child-getting it killed like she had died. Just the thought made her sick to her stomach.

It was a good thing-good thing she wasn't pregnant.

"And then I grabbed her hands, put them on my breasts and said: 'Squeeze them, hoe. Do these feel like fake boobs to you? And when you do, I'll use them to beat the crap outta you for even suggesting it, you flea-bitten mongrel!'"

Chloe blinked and looked up, those impassioned sentences having broken her out of her dark thoughts.

Bobby choked on his mouthful of beer.

"I made her shake them up and down like this for good measure for her to see there was no silicon involved in these babies!" Lois grabbed her breasts and gave them both a hearty squeeze and shake as she continued to tell this apparently gripping tale. "She, of course, had to leave with her tail between her legs and I won the battle."

Sam blinked as he stared at Lois.

Dean looked terrified.

Chloe felt utterly lost - just what the heck had everyone been talking about that had led to Lois feeling the need to share this story?

Lois continued to hold her breasts.

Bobby continued to cough/choke.

Sam leaned over to pat the man on his back. "And all of this was over a cartoon character the both of you wanted to dress up as for halloween?"

"Anime character. And anyway, she couldn't be Nausicaä, she was blonde. It would've been as if I dressed up as Ponyo!" Lois let go of her breasts to throw her hands in the air in exasperation. "It's sacrilege against the great Hayao Miyasaki!"

Dean blinked. "What language are you speaking?"

Lois blinked as well. "Studio Ghibli."

Dean looked even more lost now.

"How does this story correlate with your question about-?" Sam then stopped. "You know what? I don't want to know."

Bobby got up from the table. "I need another beer."

"I'll have another too, thanks Bobby!" Lois called after him with a grin. "He's so easily embarrassed." Her gaze went to Sam and Dean. "You two as well, which is shocking, by the way, especially you, Dean."

"I'm not embarrassed." Dean raised an eyebrow as he leaned back hard on his seat and took a long swig on his beer. "Shocked, maybe. Confused, definitely. But not embarrassed."

Lois merely chuckled before she turned her gaze on Chloe. "You okay?"

Chloe eyed the people at the table as her father returned with more bottles of beer, and she smiled, genuinely, for the first time that day. "Yeah, I am."

Lois grinned brightly as she reached over and placed her hand on Chloe's. "Good."

Oh my gosh! You updated this one! Yay! I love it. An embarrassed Dean is so cute! I'm a little worried about adding John to the mix. But then again, it'd be someone else for Lois to flirt with... :)
